Newmarket 300 Website Redesign

A Community-Focused Website Built to Support Events, Fundraising, and Celebration

The Newmarket 300 website redesign was created to support a major community initiative tied to two important milestones: the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026 and the 300th Anniversary of Newmarket in 2027. This project was about more than just refreshing the look of the website. It involved building a flexible digital platform that could help the committee promote events, support fundraising, manage donations, and share the story of Newmarket’s past, present, and future. It is a strong example of how strategic website design can support both community engagement and long-term organizational goals.

Project Goals

The goal of this redesign was to create a site that could serve as the central hub for the USA250/NEWMARKET300 Group while giving the committee the tools needed to manage content, promote town-wide celebrations, and encourage participation from local organizations, institutions, businesses, and residents. The site needed to be easy to navigate, visually engaging, and capable of growing as more events, fundraising efforts, and content were added over time.

  • Create a more polished and modern website design
  • Develop a structure for publishing and organizing events
  • Support fundraising and online donations
  • Add eCommerce functionality for merchandise and promotional items
  • Build a flexible content system for future growth
  • Improve search visibility and usability for local users and visitors

Website Redesign & User Experience Improvements

The redesign gave Newmarket 300 a much stronger visual presence and a more organized user experience. The updated layout helps guide visitors to the most important sections of the site, including upcoming events, fundraising opportunities, donation pages, and shop features. Because the committee is working to celebrate both Newmarket’s 300th anniversary and the nation’s 250th anniversary, the site needed to strike a balance between historic storytelling, current promotion, and future planning. That balance is a big part of what makes an effective website redesign.

  • Cleaner, more modern design
  • Improved navigation and content organization
  • Better user flow for event discovery and participation
  • Clear calls to action for donations, fundraising, and involvement
  • Mobile-friendly layout for users browsing on phones and tablets

Custom Post Types for Events and Fundraising

One of the most important parts of this project was building custom post type structures that would allow the committee to manage content in an organized, scalable way. Rather than relying on static pages alone, the site was set up to support event listings and fundraising-related content that can be added and updated as the celebration calendar grows. This gives the organization a much more powerful system for keeping the public informed and engaged.

  • Custom post types for events
  • Custom post types for fundraising initiatives
  • Structured content for easier updates and consistency
  • Scalable framework for a growing calendar of celebrations
  • Improved backend usability for ongoing site management

Donation Forms and Online Fundraising Tools

Because fundraising plays an important role in supporting anniversary events and community initiatives, the website also needed tools that made it easy for visitors to contribute. Donation forms were integrated to help streamline giving and create a smoother experience for supporters. These features help the committee turn community interest into actual participation and financial support.

  • Integrated donation forms for supporter contributions
  • Clear pathways for fundraising participation
  • Simple user experience for online giving
  • Better support for campaign promotion and community outreach

Online Shop Functionality

To further support fundraising and community engagement, the website also includes an online shop. This added another layer of functionality to the project by giving the organization a place to sell merchandise and other promotional items tied to the Newmarket 300 initiative. The shop helps build local excitement around the celebration while also creating another avenue for financial support.

  • eCommerce setup for merchandise and promotional items
  • Additional fundraising opportunity through online sales
  • Easy-to-manage product structure
  • Integrated shopping experience within the main website

SEO and Long-Term Content Structure

Beyond design and functionality, the website was also built with long-term visibility in mind. A strong structure helps both users and search engines better understand the content, especially as more event pages, announcements, fundraising efforts, and community updates are added. Building a site like this with the right content hierarchy and page relationships is a major part of effective SEO services, even for a project centered around local history and civic engagement.

  • Improved content hierarchy for search visibility
  • Better organization for event and announcement pages
  • Stronger internal linking opportunities as content grows
  • Foundation for ongoing local SEO value

About the Organization

The Town of Newmarket designated the USA250/NEWMARKET300 Group to encourage, approve, promote, and help plan events from local organizations and businesses that celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the United States in 2026 and the 300th Anniversary of Newmarket in 2027. The committee’s work is centered on honoring the past, celebrating the present, and looking toward the future under the theme 300 Years At the River’s Edge.

The mission of the committee is to encourage local organizations, institutions, and businesses to create vibrant and inclusive anniversary celebrations that honor the rich heritage of both Newmarket and the United States, acknowledge the contributions of individuals and events, welcome and educate newer families, and strengthen community connection for generations to come.

Newmarket’s story dates back to December 5, 1727, when Colonial Governor John Wentworth signed the Act of Separation allowing residents to separate from Exeter and form their own parish, to be called Newmarket. Today, the committee is working to build a full calendar of events that will commemorate this milestone and bring the community together in meaningful ways.

The Result

The finished Newmarket 300 website is more than a redesign. It is a functional community platform built to support event promotion, fundraising, donations, local engagement, and long-term growth. With custom content structures, an online shop, improved navigation, and a stronger overall design, the site is well positioned to help the committee celebrate Newmarket’s history while supporting the work ahead.
